The initiative, which involves the students of two primary schools in Turin, was born out of the unfillable pain of losing a daughter. This year, the association’s commitment has doubled, welcoming the Duca d’Aosta Comprehensive Institute with 42 third-grade children. Furthermore, the collaboration with Ugi continues. In essence, there are now 110 young students challenging themselves on the ski slopes in Piedmont.<\/p>\n
“When we started, we did not expect such milestones,” says Grippaldi. “It’s demanding, but worth it. We aim to grow; other schools have asked to participate, but for now, we had to put them on a waiting list. We did not have enough funds, maybe next year.”<\/p>\n
The association covers all expenses: from transportation to equipment, from passes to lessons with teachers (including Francesca, Totta’s sister). But not only donations are needed, volunteers are also needed: people who enjoy dedicating themselves to this initiative. The outings take place only on weekdays, mainly on Mondays and Fridays. Volunteers must be experienced with the equipment, have skills in interacting with children, and be familiar with the mountain environment.<\/p>\n

“Cuando empezamos, no esper\u00e1bamos tales hitos”, dice Grippaldi. “Es exigente, pero vale la pena. Apuntamos a crecer; otras escuelas han pedido participar, pero por ahora, tuvimos que ponerlas en lista de espera. No ten\u00edamos suficientes fondos, tal vez el pr\u00f3ximo a\u00f1o”.<\/p>\n
La asociaci\u00f3n cubre todos los gastos: desde el transporte hasta el equipo, desde los pases hasta las lecciones con los maestros (incluyendo a Francesca, la hermana de Totta).
