The rules of the Sanremo Festival 2024: How to vote – Corriere.it

The Sanremo Festival is divided into five evenings, during which the three juries that determine the competition rankings will take turns with voting:
• the audience through the Televoting system from landline and mobile phones;
• a jury of the Press Room, TV and Web, composed of representatives of the media accredited to the Festival;
• a Radio jury, composed of national and local radio stations, identified according to criteria of representation of the entire Italian territory. On the first evening, all 30 competing artists will perform and will be voted by the Press Room jury.

At the end of the evening – which should not be before 2 AM, as announced by the host Amadeus himself as a guest on Fabio Fazio’s “Che Tempo Che fa” – the songs in the first five positions of the ranking based on the received votes will be communicated to the public (initially it was planned for the communicated songs to be those in the first ten positions of the ranking, then the regulation was modified). The two voting systems will carry the same weight, i.e., 50% of the final ranking.

Based on the overall result of the voting, a ranking will be drawn up, and the top five positions will be announced. The same mechanism applies to the third evening, during which the other 15 competing singers will perform and will always be voted by the Televoting and the Radio jury.

At the end of the third evening, a ranking will be drawn up, and the top five positions will be announced. The average of the vote percentages obtained by the artists in the three previous evenings will then determine a general ranking of the 30 competing songs.

The fourth evening, the one for covers, will see all 30 artists and their partners chosen for the performance at the Ariston Theater perform. At the end of the episode, during which all three juries will vote, only the top five songs in the ranking will be announced.

The percentage weight on the overall result of the three voting systems will be distributed as follows: Televoting 34%; Press Room, TV and Web jury 33%; Radio jury 33%. Among the top five announced, the winner of the cover evening is the first classified.

A new general ranking will then be drawn up, combining the results of the previous evenings with those of the cover evening. During the final, all 30 competing artists will perform again and will be voted by the audience through Televoting.

The general ranking of the 30 songs obtained at the end of the previous evening will then be communicated to the public, and the average of the vote percentages obtained in the first part of the final through Televoting and those obtained in the previous evenings will determine a new general ranking of the Big, which will be communicated to the public. The five songs with the highest position in the new general ranking will be played again, and at this point, the previous votes will be reset, and a new public voting with Televoting, Press Room jury, TV and Web, and Radio jury will take place, with the following distribution of weight: Televoting 34%; Press Room, TV and Web jury 33%; Radio jury 33%.

The artist whose song receives the highest overall vote percentage will win Sanremo 2024, and then the second, third, fourth, and fifth songs in the final general ranking will also be announced.
