Bobsled Track in Cortina: Race Against Time – Corriere.it

As sports enthusiasts and Olympic lovers, we are rooting for the workers, technicians, and designers who will build the bobsleigh-skeleton track in Cortina. Will our heroes make it? It’s a race against time because by March 2025, in just thirteen months, the Olympic government, the IOC, demands that the famous “test events,” which are technical safety trials, take place on that track. Bobsleigh and skeleton are dangerous sports, requiring speed and delicate balance.

The track must pass rigorous examinations involving measurements, rules, carefully calibrated curves, and precise angles. All of this is expected from the team at Pizzarotti group, who have enlisted special teams of technicians from the ice countries of Northern Europe to work in harmony with their Italian colleagues (who are also skilled) to rapidly build the track, facing very demanding work shifts. If they succeed, they will deserve the gold medal of engineering. Otherwise, the races will be held in St. Moritz, Switzerland, where the IOC wants to take us, perhaps with some reason to be suspicious.

The Pizzarotti boys are asked to be fast, to enter the Guinness World Records by building an ice track. We are now at a point of complete uncertainty, with the powerful IOC observing us skeptically and sternly. The culprits are easily identifiable and know little about sports and the Olympics.
