Muerte trágica en Alberone: Encuentran muerto al ex maestro Italo Gatti en su casa, desaparecido desde julio pasado

The story of the disappearance of Italo Gatti, the 76-year-old former teacher who went missing last July, has ended in tragedy. Even the TV show “Chi l’ha visto?” covered his case. It seems that he had been deceased for some time.

Carabinieri and firefighters arrived on the scene and climbed to the fourth floor of the building to reach the balcony, entering through an open window, perhaps left open by the wind. Gatti’s pension was being regularly deposited, but there had been no activity in his account for several weeks. The authorities had conducted an inspection, but in the absence of suspicious circumstances and testimony of foul odors or other details, they were unable to access the apartment. Gatti only had one relative living in Frosinone whom he sporadically communicated with.

Initially, it was hypothesized that Gatti had left home due to utility disconnection for non-payment. However, the discovery of an open window on the balcony gave investigators the opportunity to act on their own initiative, leading to the discovery of the body of the former teacher. Autopsies planned for the coming days will determine whether the 76-year-old died of a sudden illness or could have been saved in some way.
