In the EU Parliament proposal, the objectives to be achieved by 2035 include a 30% reduction in pesticides. The term “pesticides,” or “phytopharmaceuticals,” refers to a broad category of plant protection products used mainly to keep crops healthy and prevent them from being destroyed by diseases and infestations. They include herbicides, fungicides, insecticides, acaricides, plant growth regulators, and repellents. The proposal has been set aside.
